Seema Malik is Professor and former Head, Department of English, Dean, Research & Postgraduate Studies, and Chairperson, Faculty of Humanities, Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, Rajasthan. She has more than 31 years of teaching experience in Higher Education and has more than 10 years of administrative experience, having held various posts from time to time. Interested in women’s studies, she has presented a number of research papers, both in India and abroad. She has delivered her talks in Chicago, USA, Cordoba, Spain, Colombo, Sri Lanka and Melbourne, Australia.
She has published in indexed and referred national and international journals, exploring different areas of women’s experiences in Indian English Fiction, Partition Fiction, Women’s Autobiographies and Women Playwrights. She has authored two books and completed two U.G.C. research projects. Her book on Partition entitled Partition and Indian Women Novelists foregrounds the gendered perspective of Partition across borders and explores the interstices of history. She has recently edited a book entitled Ethics and Aesthetics: Essays in Indian Literature. She has successfully supervised a number of scholars in diverse areas for M.Phil and Doctoral thesis. She has delivered a number of invited talks as UGC Visiting Professor to different Universities on diverse topics like Fiji Diaspora, Partition, Autobiographies by Indian Women Writers, Indian Women Playwrights, Postcolonialism, and Postmodernism etc. She has successfully organized Seminars, Extension Lectures, Workshops, Debates and other academic activities in the Department as well as at the University level. She is currently pursuing D. Litt. Professor Malik is Chairperson/member of a number of significant academic and administrative committees in the parent institution as well as other Universities.
